A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to inactive email addresses under the very same domain. For example, an email message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can get email messages from mates or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
In case you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a shared hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel offers quite a lot of features, but it is exceptionally user-friendly, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes just a single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have set up will be listed in this section alphabetically and you’ll only have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the given email address. Our system will warn you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose a different mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as easy and requires yet another click on the exact same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The custom-built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we’re offering will allow you to set up a catch-all email mailbox easily even if you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All you have to do to achieve that is click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each mailbox that you have set up using your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you have already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding enabled. If you decide that you do not want this feature anymore, you can turn it off by clicking once again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
